This was the largest and oldest family-owned second-hand bookstore in California, claiming to have in stock over one million books. Shut down in 2008. In 1990 Acres of Books was designated a cultural heritage landmark by the City of Long Beach.

V.I.P. Records is synonymous with West Coast rap culture. It was featured in Snoop's Who Am I (What's My Name?) video back in 1993. Nate Dogg, Warren G and others who grew up in the central Long Beach neighborhood all have history here.
